Southern Twirler

This lively piece The Arkansas Dancer by Timothy Brown is a lovely piece that evokes the image of a great party in a large barn.  Sheet Music Plus describes it this way: "This lively two-step featuring a catchy bluegrass-style 'fiddle tune' will make you want to get up and dance!  Written for the intermediate level student, it features a fun syncopation and clever use of chromatics and accidentals."

Quick Look:
Key: D
Note values: whole note to eighth note and corresponding rests
Cut time
dynamic range from p to f
accidentals, staccato, slur, tenuto, pedal marking,

This piece contains all the hand movements, challenging rhythms, and hand stretches that you would expect from intermediate literature.  The ABA format of this piece makes it fun, as well as the iconic melodic and rhythmic figure appearing several times throughout the A section in different octaves.
