Below is a video (not my student or recording) of a student playing this piece for competition. It's not completely perfect, but it gives a great idea of the Scottish social gathering this song depicts.
This is a choice for the National Federation of Music Clubs. The 6/8 meter provides a spirited dance feeling. The repeat and DS al Coda provide length to this two page piece. The lilting melody does spread the hand out, using a G arpeggio for the beginning figure. There are also several finger movements and crossings, all of which are noted well. You can look inside here.
Inside this piece, you will find:
6/8
no key signature
dotted half, dotted quarter, quarter, eighth notes and rests
f, mr, mp, p, crescendo,
repeat, accent, staccato, slur, finger movements, hands at different dynamics, grace notes, accidentals, pedal, 8va, senza rit. D.S. al Coda, Coda.
You can buy this piece at Sheet Music Plus for $2.95.
