Reminders of Childhood

This is the same book I used when I was a piano student in high school.  It brings back fond memories of a piano teacher who was kind and patient and a student who didn't practice as much as she should have.

This book comes after the Mini Book and the Preparatory Book.

The exercises introduce and reinforce several concepts.  Keeping a steady beat is important while changing note values or implementing techniques.  You can look inside here.

Notes: quarter, eighth, sixteenth, triplets, thirty-second notes,
Intervals: harmonic 3rd, 6th, melodic 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, octave
Chords: I and V7

Octave leaps, holding one note while playing another, contrary scales, accent, parallel scales, finger changes, chromatic fingering, right hand playing in bass clef, 2 octave scales, patterns in sequence, arpeggios, finger stretches, glissando,

As I've mentioned before, these are engaging exercises.  I showed them to one of my students, who was enchanted by the stick figure accompanying each exercise, as well as how fun and easy they were. If you find the correct level for the Dozen a Day, these are great books that most students can continue through with a great sense of progress.

This is available at Sheet Music Plus for $3.99
