Little Critters

All Creatures Great...But Small by Melody Bober is an enchanting book.  The eleven songs all feature some type of animal.  Several tunes have words, but they all feature a fun fact or tidbit about the animal featured.  The songs are varied from Lively to Sneakily to Flowing.

This engaging book is filled with a variety of songs that will captivate the young player.  There is beautiful smooth songs, quick zippy songs, words about dancing turtles, grumpy groundhogs, scared skunks, sneaky raccoons, and beautiful loons.

The Ant March is a quick little staccato piece which features left hand crossover action.  Lucy, the Lovely Loon is flowing and full of dynamics.  Chippie the Chipmunk is staccato and uses several 8va and 15ma to illustrate a chipmunk jumping through the trees.  Travis the Trout uses the pedal for an effect many young students love.  The Sparrow's Song is smooth, Ricky Raccoon is a song that students can help but move to and love.

The songs included in this book are:
Teddy Turtle's Two-Step
The Woodpecker Song
Prickly Pete, the Porcupine
Stanley, the Skunk
Ricky Raccoon
The Sparrow's Song
Gus, the Groundhog
Travis the Trout
