Dancing Gourds

Pumpkin Dance by Timothy Brown is a late elementary piece that makes students (and often the teacher!) want to move.

Not my student, or video, but it gives you an idea of the piece.

This piece is two pages, and includes eighth notes.  It is written without a key signature, but there are many accidentals.  Though the piece is written in 4/4 it is felt with two pulses per measure.  There are a range of dynamics for this song, as well as the juxtaposition of legato and staccato.  The right hand plays several intervals and three-note chords.  The form of this piece is ABA with a nod to the B section to finish.
