Timothy Brown's Emerald Sea is certainly an impressive piece of music. A student in our Academy won the chance to play at Carnegie Hall with this piece in a regional competition.
It is a challenging piece, with either four or three to a beat for nearly the entire song. It does provide the listener with the perpetual motion of a boat on the sea or waves on a beach. The ABA format brings the piece together well. The challenges arise in this piece because of the finger dexterity and speed required; but I will let the music speak for itself how mesmerizing it is. (You can look inside here)
This performance captures the feeling of the piece, though there could have been more dynamic contrast in the B section. (Not my student or recording).
