Sleeping Snowflakes

Winter Dream by Nancy Lau is an absolutely gorgeous piano solo for the early intermediate player.  You don't have to take my word for it; this piece was chosen by the National Federation of Music Clubs.

The almost continuous eighth notes help to depict a calm snowfall in the middle of a quiet woods.  The B section of the piece continues the original melody over arpeggiated chords.  The overall form is ABA.  Both staves begin in the treble clef, so this may be a challenge to some students.  There are rather large leaps, so students will need to develop fluid movement especially if they do not have large hands.
